Frequently asked
Absolutely not! Most dancers who start with us come in with no prior experience. We’ll help you choose a first class based on age and comfort, and our teachers will do the work to meet you where you are and take you to the next level!
While we have recommended dancewear for all of our classes listed below, we pride ourselves on having a flexible dress code for our recreational dancers. We’d never want dancewear to get in the way of your child thriving with us, and any comfortable/athletic clothes are welcome in class. Recommended styles are below:
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Contemporary, Musical Theater: leotard and tights with dance shorts or a ballet skirt (attached or unattached) OR fitted solid color t-shirt and black pants/shorts. Proper dance shoes as needed— see our dress code for more!
Hip Hop: Loose-fitting clothing like t-shirts, sweatpants, and joggers. Any sneakers washed from the outdoors or set aside specifically for hip hop class.
Grown Ups and Groovers: Any comfortable clothes for both adult and child!
What Not to Wear: Socks or footed tights without dance shoes over them | Jeans or other stiff fabrics | Jewelry | Overly loose-fitting clothes in classes that are not hip hop (it’s harder for us to see your lines and help you grow!)
Yes! New families are always welcome to try one free trial class before committing to the program!
Registration is quick, easy, and totally online. Start by browsing our class options in the ‘Schedule’ tab to decide what feels right for your dancer. You can always ask questions to help! Then, select the “Register Now” button in the top right corner to create an account with us. You’ll fill out a quick registration form, select, your classes, and fill out any waivers there, getting you all ready to dance with us this season!
Recreational dancers perform in our incredible year-end recital each June to show off all they’ve learned to their loved ones! While it is optional to participate, this event is typically the highlight of our dancers’ year!
